Academic painter Eva Hašková has accumulated a wealth of experience in banknote design over the past few years. Therefore, the choice could not have fallen on anyone else in the Czech artistic environment but her. She developed a total of four designs for the portrait of Václav Havel.
Each of them was unique and interesting in some way. Once she portrayed Václav Havel as a dignified statesman, the second time as a thoughtful dissident, and in another design as a dissolute young man who loves life and people. There were long discussions, both professional and lay, about which of these was the most suitable for use on our banknote. You can now judge whether we made the right choice.
